Roller-skating is coming to Bicentennial Unity Plaza! Just in time for the start of summer, Pacers Sports & Entertainment announced today that Bicentennial Unity Plaza will host roller skating and other fun outdoor activities for visitors and residents in downtown Indianapolis.
The event schedule, as well as the link for guests to reserve their roller-skating tickets, is available at www.GainbridgeFieldhouse.com/BicentennialUnityPlaza.
“Bicentennial Unity Plaza is a true community asset, a place where people can come to enjoy world-class public art, incredible events, greenspace, and recreation against the beautiful backdrop of Indy’s downtown skyline,” said Mel Raines, President & Chief Operating Officer of Pacers Sports & Entertainment. “Much like ice-skating, we anticipate that roller-skating will bring out visitors of all ages and the slate of activities this summer will be a wonderful addition to the vibrant offerings of our city.”
Beginning July 4, every Thursday to Sunday through the month of September, guests will be able to enjoy roller-skating at the Elevance Health Rink, music, and concessions late into the evening. Monday and Tuesday afternoons, the rink will be converted into three pickleball courts that can be reserved by the public, while Wednesday afternoons and evenings will be held for family-oriented activities. Events and daily hours may vary, so guests are encouraged to visit the link or follow Gainbridge Fieldhouse on social media to stay up to date on the schedule.
Since opening last August, Bicentennial Unity Plaza has become one of the most popular spots for events and activities in downtown Indianapolis. Last November, the space was transformed into the Elevance Health Rink, with more than 20,000 ice-skaters participating during its inaugural winter season. Bicentennial Unity Plaza is also frequently used for outdoor markets, concerts and performances, community events, and pre-game celebrations during the Pacers and Fever seasons.
