Indianapolis Named Host of Future Big Ten Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments
INDIANAPOLIS – The Big Ten Conference announced today that the 2025 TIAA Big Ten Women’s and Men’s Basketball Tournaments, the 2026 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament, and the 2027 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament will be held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
“We are thrilled with the conference’s decision to have the Big Ten Women’s and Men’s Basketball Tournaments return to Indianapolis,” said Indiana Sports Corp President Patrick Talty. “Together, with our partners throughout the community, we will continue the storied tradition of Big Ten basketball while working to further enhance the tournament experience for the member institutions, student-athletes, coaches, and fans.”
“We look forward to partnering with the city of Indianapolis as they host the Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments. Indianapolis will be an exciting post-season opportunity for our student-athletes, coaches, and fans, both locally and from across the country” said Big Ten Commissioner Tony Petitti.
The 2025 TIAA Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament will take place March 5-9, followed by the 2025 TIAA Men’s Basketball Tournament from March 12-16. They will be the first to feature a 15-team field from the 18-team conference following the additions of Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington this summer.
Indianapolis has an extensive history of hosting both the Big Ten Women’s and Men’s Basketball Tournaments, having previously hosted the Women’s Tournament 27 times and the Men’s Tournament 13 times, each most recently in 2022.
Tickets for the 2025 TIAA Big Ten Women’s and Men’s Basketball Tournaments will go on sale at a later date.
This announcement follows the news from last week that Indianapolis will continue to host the Big Ten Football Championship Game through 2028 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
